Gary Zervas
Principal (Melbourne)
Background
Gary Zervas is an experienced leader and manager with a strong background in end to end general management, strategy and planning, accounting, law and practical continuous improvement which has yielded increases in productivity, quality, safety and customer satisfaction with commensurate improvements in revenue and profit. Gary has over 25 years experience in business, in organisations of various sizes including Australian and Global blue chip companies (Coopers & Lybrand, North Ltd, Hewlett-Packard, Skidata), the Australian Defence Force and smaller enterprises. In each organisation, Gary has taken his commercial, common sense approach, in seeking, initiating and implementing improvements in a wide range of functions to create value, including sales, marketing, supply chain, manufacturing, service delivery, finance and corporate governance.
With a strong foundation in finance, complemented with his experience and knowledge of business, Gary is able to meaningfully interpret results and build predictive models which can be used for business planning. Having built integrated strategic and tactical business plans, Gary has been able to guide organisations to master their own destiny and harness existing knowledge and talents. His preference is to train and mentor; improvement should be organic and perpetual. With experience in legal and compliance issues, including governance, regulatory requirements, product certification and safety issues, Gary is able to build and improve the systems that every organisation needs. Gary has a good understanding of how processes should exist to support organisational strategies, and at the same time, support the people implementing those strategies. Gary’s real passion is continuous improvement delivered through people across the value chain, including: staff; suppliers; and customers.
